In 1999 Sven Olek co-authors Epigenomics’ basic patent on the DNA methylation technology.
Until 2003, this DNA methylation technology was further developed and applied in the fields of cancer diagnostics and pharmacogenomics by Epigenomics AG.
Epiontis GmbH was founded in March 2003 in Berlin by its managing team, along with the Epigenomics AG, one of Germany’s most successful biotech companies. Epiontis is adapting Epigenomics’ extensive expertise and extraordinary IP position in DNA methylation to applications in tissue engineering and cell therapies.
